Taylored Movements, Inc. Founder

PSC Master Teacher Trainer

The Neuro Studio Neurological Conditions Practitioner

Reiki Level 2 Practitioner

Hi there! I’m thrilled to take you on the first steps of your Pilates, movement, and Reiki journey! I’m Taylor, your passionate and enthusiastic Pilates teacher based in Wicker Park, in Chicago, Illinois. With a deep rooted love for Pilates that started in my childhood, has traversed injuries and rehabilitation, and blossomed into a lifelong commitment, I’m here to help you discover the transformational power of this incredible practice.

In 2015, I embarked on my professional Pilates path, earning my certification through the renowned classical training program at Frog Temple Pilates Center. Since then, I have been on a fascinating adventure of continuous learning and expansion, aimed at offering you the best Pilates experience in Chicago.

My quest for knowledge has led me to explore a multitude of specialized areas through continued education, enriching my skills in human anatomy, Pre- and Post- Natal care, myofascial release techniques, nervous system regulation methods, as well as other somatic movement styles. I am also well versed in various Pilates-related equipment, including the CoreAlign, Iyengar Yoga Wall, and the McEntire Arcus bar. In 2020, I achieved Pilates Sports Center Master Teacher, fusing contemporary Pilates to my classical repertoire and gaining the ability to certify Pilates teachers. My commitment to learning continued with the completion of The Neuro Studio Neurological Conditions Practitioner certification in 2022. Most recently, I’ve added the soothing and healing touch of Reiki to my offerings, having become an Usui and Holy Fire Reiki Level 2 Practitioner. As an eternal learner, my journey is a perpetual adventure in seeking fresh insights and wisdom to bring a better movement and energy experience to my students.

Taylored Movements, Inc. Movement and Pilates Studio in Wicker Park, Chicago, Illinois was founded in 2019. What started with in-home concierge Pilates sessions in Chicago and virtual Pilates mat sessions all over the world, grew into a beautiful home studio that offers the ultimate boutique Pilates experience in Chicago, Illinois. I created this private, energetically aligned, and cozy space to support students with a completely customized approach to their goals. This includes many options for movement- from the classical and contemporary Pilates equipment, to the CoreAlign, to massage tools, to Reiki for energy balancing. There is also an emphasis on learning about your body and how to listen to it, and how this can help you reach your goals. Appointments are spaced out to allow privacy to move freely and come as you are, as well as prevent the distraction of other students or fear of health risks.

I believe that every Pilates journey is unique, just like each person’s needs and goals. That’s why I create customized Pilates and Movement programs, tailored to you, whether you’re an athlete trying to PR, healing from an injury, learning about the new body you live in, 15 or 80 years young. My heart lies in rehabilitative Pilates, and I find immense joy in working with students dealing with injuries, chronic pain, trauma, neurological conditions, autoimmune disorders, as well as cancer and long COVID.

Pilates isn’t just a workout; it’s a lifestyle. I incorporate Pilates movement and lifestyle principles into my daily life, and view it through the lens of Mr. Pilates’ own words, “Change happens through movement, and movement heals.”

I am a true believer in the transformative power of Pilates because I’ve witnessed its impact in my life and in the lives of countless others. The same can be said for energy work and Reiki. I invite you to experience the magic of Pilates, movement, and Reiki with me.

Outside of the studio, I am a cold weather enthusiast, skating outdoors and enjoying snow sports whenever I can. I care for my nervous system by indulging in cold showers, attending ice baths, and keeping up with my own movement, Reiki, and self massage practice. At home, you’ll find me warmer with a mug of tea, cuddling my cat, and watching my favorite reality shows.

Land acknowledgement:

Taylored Movements respectfully acknowledges that we are located on the ancestral lands of Indigenous tribes, including the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi nations, as well as the Miami, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Sac, Fox, Kickapoo, and Illinois Nations. This area known as Chicago, has a rich Indigenous history that predates the arrival of settlers, and we recognize the enduring connection of Native peoples to this land. We also acknowledge the painful history of colonization, forced removal, and injustice that has affected Indigenous people across the United States and the world. As we gather in this space for Pilates, movement, and Reiki, we honor the Indigenous communities who have lived on and cared for this land. We encourage our community to learn more about the history and culture of the Indigenous people in the area and to support the efforts that promote justice, equality, and respect for all. In the spirit of reconciliation and mutual respect, let us strive to be responsible stewards of the land and work towards a better future together. Taylored Movements stands in solidarity with the Indigenous communities of this land and is committed to acknowledging their presence and contributions.

“[...]the term “ally” is not a noun. You cannot name yourself an ally. Ever. [...]you can never actually be an ally but you can act in allyship.”
— Rachel Ricketts, Do Better p218

First and foremost, we acknowledge the role that white supremacy and racism play in our society and how this affects each person, both mentally and physically. Everybody deserves to feel free in their mind and body.

We will not tolerate ANY racist or discriminatory behavior of any kind towards ANYONE.

It is our goal to address any instances the moment they occur, but if we missed something, please feel comfortable calling us in. We appreciate the opportunity to grow and be better and are thankful for your time and effort to help us. All instances will be addressed directly and appropriate measures will be taken to ensure the safety of all involved.

What does anti-racism look like for us?

  • Speaking up! We are practicing speaking up when we need to. Please call us in when we get it wrong!

  • Uplifting BI&PoC. We know the White story, so we are listening to and sharing the BI&PoC perspective.

  • Continued Education. We are further educating ourselves with BI&PoC lead anti-racism texts and courses

  • Spending with BI&PoC. We put our money where our mouth is, spending with local BI&PoC owned businesses.:

  • Anti-racism Plan. Sonja Price Herbert was, and continues to be, consulted regarding this plan.

  • Donating with BI&PoC. We are donating to causes and individuals who are fighting racism, even if only by existing.

  • Adding Pronouns. Our intake form now asks for your preferred pronouns, so let us know what to use.

  • Reparations for BI&PoC. In an effort to provide reparations, Taylor offers free lessons for qualifying students.
